Abstract

A method for producing a regenerated foundry sand, wherein a foundry sand is roasted in a roasting kiln and is blown up by an air flow to the upper portion of the roasting kiln, particles of a foundry sand float up to the upper portion of the roasting kiln and collide with one another, to thereby be ground. When the velocity of air flow is 0.8 m/s or more, unnecessary components are removed effectively from a foundry sand, which results in providing a regenerated foundry sand having high quality. In an embodiment of the present invention, most part of a foundry sand is floated up to the upper portion of a roasting kiln, and a part of the floated foundry sand is recycled to an lower portion through an circulation path provided in the outside of the roasting kiln from the upper portion of the roasting kiln. The above method can be used for producing a regenerated foundry sand having high quality.
