Abstract

This invention provides a redispersible synthetic resin emulsion powder in which physical properties of an emulsion resulting from redispersion thereof in water is substantially the same as that of the emulsion in the state before it is formed to a powder, and in which water resistance of a film formed from the emulsion obtained by redispersing the powder can be improved. The redispersible acrylic synthetic resin emulsion powder composition is obtained by drying an acrylic synthetic resin emulsion prepared by emulsion polymerization of an acrylic monomer and a specific functional monomer using a specific polyvinyl alcohol as an emulsifier.
