Abstract
The objective of the present invention is to provide a front plate and a rear plate for a PDP in which air bubbles do not remain in a dielectric layer after incineration, and which uses the dielectric layer in which sufficient flatness has been obtained as for the front plate or the rear plate of the PDP in which copper exists in either of a substrate or an electrode of the surface on the dielectric layer side. The present invention is characterized in that: The thickness of the dielectric layer after incineration is 5 to 15 μm, and by making the dielectric layer before incineration contain (a) an inorganic powder and (b) a binder risin having a hydroxyl group in the side chain in which the amount of hydroxyl group contained in the side chain is 0.4 or more based on one monomer constituting unit in conversion of the average number of the hydroxyl group contained in the side chain based on the monomer constituting unit, the air bubbles do not remain in the dielectric layer after incineration, and the sufficient flatness can be obtained.
