Abstract

An image display having a spacer structural body (22) between a first substrate (10) provided with a phosphor screen and a second substrate (12) provided with electron emission sources (18) is disclosed. The structural body has a plate-shaped grid (24) opposed to the first and second substrates and having electron beam passing holes opposed to the respective electron emission sources and spacers erected at least on one side of the grid. The spacer has large-diameter first stages and small-diameter second stages alternated and extended from the grid toward the extension end.
