Abstract

This invention provides a transparent retroreflective member which can be stuck onto a surface bearing information data which can be visually identified through the transparent retroreflective member. The transparent retroreflective member (10) contains a retroreflective portion (12) which causes incident light to return in the direction opposite to the direction of the incident light. The retroreflective member (12) contains a reflective layer (14) made of an inorganic substance having a refraction index of 2.0, and transparent fine balls (16) orderly deployed on the reflective layer (14). The retroreflective member (10) has a light permeability of 30-99% in the wave length region of 450-700nm, and is adapted to be stuck on a surface (28) bearing information which can be visually identified through the transparent retroreflective member (10).
