Buluş özellikle, Fabry-Perot, plazmonik veya güçlü girişim etkisini kullanan, bir yüzeye gizlenen bilginin ince soğurucu katman kaplı şeffaf bir alttaş ile ortaya çıkarılmasını sağlayan, arasında anahtar kilit uyumu bulunan şifreleme ve deşifreleme katmanına sahip optik şifreleme yapısı ile ilgilidir.
