LED arka aydınlatmalı ekranlardaki bölgesel arka aydınlatma yeğinliği genellikle görüntünün yeğinlik seviyelerine dayanarak kestirilmektedir Mevcut buluş, görüntünün belirgin öznitelikleri kullanılarak kestirimin geliştirildiği bir ileri işleme yöntemi sunmaktadır Bu yöntem esas olarak belirgin bir alanın meydana geldiği düşük yeğinlikteki bölgelerde arka ışığı artırır Bu ileri işleme, belirgin bölgelerin mevcut olduğu yerlerde yüksek seviye telafiden dolayı bölgesel kontrast kaybını engelleyerek görüntü kalitesini ve algısını geliştirir Sonuç olarak iyileştirilmiş bir insan algısı ile, yüksek kontrast ve güç verimliliğine ulaşılır.
