Abstract

본 발명은 백라이트 유닛의 광원을 다수개의 영역별로 독립적으로 구동시키는 액정표시장치 및 그 구동방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 액정표시장치에서 표시되는 영역의 밝기(휘도)가 크게 다를 경우에, 이에 따라 서로 휘도가 다르게 발광되는 백라이트 유닛의 영역들 내에 표시되는 영상에서 휘도 차이에 의한 경계가 시인되는 것을 개선할 수 있다.
