Abstract

This invention relates to the field of agriculture, forestry and gardening and mainly can be used to repel insect pests in order to protect trees. This method includes placing of at least two insulated extended conductors embracing the tree trunk by wrapping them around the tree trunk in spirals alternating the arrangement of the spirals and supplying a DC voltage to the conductors, thus generating the electrostatic field with strength of at least 5000 V/m between the spirals of the conductors. The device contains at least two insulated extended conductors installed with coverage of the tree trunk by wrapping them around the tree trunk in spiral with alternating arrangement of coils, and the power source connected to them and configured to supply the conductors with DC voltage, providing the formation of electrostatic field with the intensity between the coils of conductors, equal to at least 5000 V/m. The use of the invention makes it possible to take preventive measures by repelling insect pests that prevent them from infesting the tree, reducing the labor costs of maintenance personnel, increasing the operational safety of the device, as well as expanding the arsenal of used means of similar purpose.
