Abstract

The method for producing self-adhesive, pre-shaped ceramic bodies involves preparing the mold using a material that is permeable and compatible with the surface defined by a pre-shaped master metal. The gas-permeable material, upon solidification, forms a mold with a pre-shaped surface that is precisely formed and closely adheres to the pre-shaped surface. Under heating, the master metal melts and flows from the mold into the support without disturbing it. An oxidation product is formed by the oxidation of the molten master metal with a vaporized oxidant, which then infuses into the mold cavities and is shaped by it. The ceramic body then re-emerges from the mold, taking on an exact replica of the original pre-shaped master metal portion.
