Claims

1. An emulsion of active vitamin D3 lotion containing the following components: (a) an effective therapeutic dose of active vitamin D3; (b) an oil phase component consisting of a solid oil component containing white petrolatum and high alcohol content, and a liquid oil component containing squalene; (c) an aqueous phase component consisting of ionic polysaccharides; and (d) a nonionic surfactant, where (1) the amount of ionic polysaccharides is 0.3 to 1.0 p/w of the total components; (2) the amount of high alcohol content is 0.2 to 1.0 p/w of the total components; and (3) the HLB of the nonionic surfactant is 10 or greater.

2. Lotion pursuant to claim 1, where the ratio by weight of the oil phase component to the oil-containing phase component (oil phase component/water phase component) is 15/85 to 3/97.

3. Lotions according to claim 1 or 2, where the nonionic surfactant is 1.8 to 5.2 parts by weight of the total prepared components.

4. A lotion pursuant to one of the claims under claims 1 through 3 where the active vitamin D3 is selectively active vitamin D3 consisting of (formula) dihydroxyvitamin D3, (formula) dihydroxyvitamin D3, and (formula) hydroxyvitamin D3.

5. A lotion pursuant to any one of the claims in Claims 1 through 4, where such ionic polysaccharide is a viscous gum of xanthan and/or carrageenan.

6. A lotion conforming to any of the claims in clauses 1 through 5, with a viscosity of 500 - 1400 mPa.s when detected by a Brookfield rotary viscometer, model LV4, at 60 rpm and 25°C.

7. A lotion pursuant to any one of the claims in claims 1 through 6 that is a preparation for the treatment of skin diseases.

8. Lotion pursuant to claim in clause 7, where the skin disease is psoriasis or warts (Clause 8, 2 pages, 2 images).
