Abstract

The DC60 (23/12/40) unveils a protective seal that can be used to sterilize the syringe barrel and its contents, preventing leakage of the contents, or both. The syringe has a Luer's tip and a ring with ends that should be plane together. The seal consists of a membrane positioned in contact with both the Luer's tip and the ring. The membrane can be selected from materials that allow the syringe to be sterilized by irradiation or heat, or by various gas sterilization processes. The membrane provides a good seal for the syringe, can be stored in a uniform size compatible with multiple syringe sizes, reducing the required storage space, and can serve as a printing area for information about the contents of the syringe. The seal consists of a membrane arranged in contact with the Luer end and the ring. The membrane can be selected from materials that allow syringes to be sterilized by irradiation or heat, or by various gas sterilization processes. The membrane provides a good seal for the syringe, allowing for consistent storage across multiple syringe sizes, reducing the required storage space, and serving as a printing area for the contents of the stored syringe.

Claims (20)

1. A syringe with a protective sealing barrier consists of a barrel with near and far ends, and a reservoir for maintaining a specific volume of medication; a Luer tip in contact with the liquid in the reservoir of the barrel; a Luer tip extending from the far end of the barrel; a terminal end; a collar formed around the Luer tip; a ring with a terminal end that is in the same plane as the Luer tip; and a retractable seal that makes complete contact with the Luer tip and the collar. 2. The syringe of claim 1, with its protective seal, has a structure to prevent moisture damage to the syringe. 3. The syringe of claim 1, with its protective seal, has a leak-proof structure. 4. The syringe of claim 1, with its protective seal, has a leak-proof structure to maintain sterility. 5. The syringe under claim 3 also contains a certain amount of the drug in its storage compartment. 6. The syringe under claim 4 also contains a certain amount of the drug in its storage compartment. 7. The syringe of claim 1, with its sealed membrane, consists of a planar portion and a pull tab. The planar portion is structured for very complete contact with the Luer end and ring. The pull tab is attached to the planar portion and shaped to allow the user to pull the planar portion from the end. 8. A syringe of the aforementioned claim 1, with a seal made from a material suitable for irradiation sterilization. 9. A syringe of claim 1, with such a seal made from a material suitable for gas sterilization. 10. A syringe of claim 1, with such a seal made from a material suitable for heat sterilization. 11. The syringe of claim 1, which makes the said membrane, contains a heat-sensitive substance to adhere the membrane to the Luer end and ring. 12. The syringe of claim 1, at the said seal, contains a pressure-sensitive substance to secure the seal to the Luer end and ring. 13. The syringe of claim 1 is made of a material selected from a group consisting of glass and plastic. 14. A sealed syringe consisting of a barrel with near and far ends, and a reservoir for maintaining a specific volume of medication; a Luer's end in contact with the liquid in the barrel; a Luer's end protruding from the far end of the barrel; a ring formed around the Luer's end; a ring with an end plane with the end of the Luer's end; and a sealing membrane positioned on the end of the Luer's end, and a ring with a first-layer sealing membrane that makes very complete contact with the Luer's end; and a burst point ring in the first layer at the Luer's end. 15. The protective barrier to claim 14 at the membrane also consists of a second layer placed on top of the aforementioned first layer. 16. The protective seal of claim 14, which forms the first layer, acts as a sterile barrier. 17. The first-level protective seal of claim 15, as mentioned above, is a sterile seal. 18. The first-level sealing mechanism of claim 14, as mentioned above, is a leak-proof measure. 19. The protective seal of claim 15, which is layer one, acts as a leak-proof barrier. 20. A Luer locking syringe with a protective seal, consisting of a tube with near and distal ends, and a designated reservoir for maintaining a specific volume of medication; the Luer end in contact of the liquid with the reservoir; the Luer end protruding from the distal end of the tube and having a terminal end; a Luer ring formed around the Luer end; a ring with a terminal end protruding beyond the terminal end of the Luer end; and a sealing membrane positioned on the terminal end of the Luer end and a ring that makes complete surface contact with the terminal end of the Luer end and the Luer ring.
