Claims (19)

A washing method consisting of contact between soiled and/or dirty clothing to be washed and a clear, single-phase liquid detergent mixture containing a softener and enzymes, comprising: (a) non-ionic surface-active detergent compounds, from approximately 3 to 10% by weight; (b) amphoteric surface-active detergent compounds, from approximately 3 to 15% by weight; (c) non-phosphate water-soluble softening salts, from approximately 5 to 25% by weight; (d) the minimum amount that produces an enzymatic effect or a selected enzyme mixture from a group consisting of alkaline protease enzymes and alpha-amylase enzymes; (e) an enzyme-stabilizing system consisting of the essential components of (i) glycerin and (ii) boron compounds, selected from a group consisting of boric acid, boric oxide, and alkali metal borates that are reactive with such glycerin, from approximately 3 to 15% by weight; and (f) water from approximately 30 to 85% by weight, such liquid detergent mixtures are considered to be free of cross-linked polyacrylate polymers.
