Abstract

Pharmaceutical formulations for topical use, comprising extracts of Clinacanthus nutans and hemp extracts, and the manufacturing process of these formulations, include: parabens, petroleum jelly, cannabilis, beeswax, menthol crystals, camphor, borneol, aqueous menthol solution, eucalyptus extract, peppermint extract, clove extract, Clinacanthus nutans extract in amounts of approximately 2 to 20 percent by weight, obtained from the leaves, stems, and/or seeds of Clinacanthus nutans, and hemp extract in amounts of approximately 0.05 to 2 percent by weight, obtained from the leaves, stems, and/or seeds of hemp, and pharmaceutically acceptable additives. The Clinacanthus nutans extract is notable for its ability to relieve inflammation from insect bites, herpes simplex virus, and shingles, while the hemp extract alleviates body aches and pains. This adds value to Thai herbs and promotes Thai herbal products internationally.

Claims (10)

1. Pharmaceutical composition for topical use, characterized by the inclusion of extracts of Clinacanthus nutans, hemp extract, and pharmaceutically acceptable additives. 2. The composition as per claim 1, which contains 2 to 20 percent by weight of the Clinacanthus nutans extract. 3. Components as per claim 1 or 2, containing hemp extract in an amount of 0.05 to 2 percent by weight. 4. Any one of the components under claims 1 through 3 in which the extract of Clinacanthus nutans is obtained from the extraction of the leaves, stems and/or seeds of Clinacanthus nutans. 5. One of the four claims under the patent states that the hemp extract is obtained from the extraction of hemp leaves, stems, and/or seeds. 6. Any one of the components under Reservations 1 through 5, where at least one additive is selected from paraffin, Vaseline, Candiallilla, beeswax, menthol crystals, camphor, borneol, menthol aqueous solution, eudaeuptus extract, cypress extract, peppermint extract, or clove extract. 7. Components as specified in any one of Claims 1 to 2, for use in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals. 8. Components under claim 7 where the pharmaceutical product is in the form of balm, ointment, cream, gel, solution, spray or patch. 9. The manufacturing process for the components under claim 1, which includes: a. Mixing 2-30% by weight of paraffin, 5-70% by weight of Vaseline, 1-30% by weight of candiella, and 2-30% by weight of beeswax, then heating and stirring the mixture to obtain component 1; b. Mixing 2-30% by weight of menthol crystals, 2-30% by weight of camphor, 2-30% by weight of borneol, and 2-30% by weight of aqueous menthol solution, then heating and stirring the mixture to obtain component 2; c. Mixing components 1 and 2 to obtain component 3; D. Add 2-30% by weight of eucalyptus extract, 2-20% by weight of peppermint extract, 2-20% by weight of clove extract, 2-20% by weight of Clinacanthus nutans extract, and 0.05-2% by weight of hemp extract to mixture 3 and stir thoroughly to obtain the pharmaceutical composition for topical use in the form of a balm. 10. Manufacturing procedure for the components under claim 1, which includes: a. Mixing 2-40% by weight of menthol crystals, 2-40% by weight of borneol, 2-40% by weight of camphor, and 2-30% by weight of aqueous menthol solution, then heating and stirring the mixture to obtain component 1; b. Adding 2-30% by weight of eucalyptus extract, 2-30% by weight of peppermint extract, 2-30% by weight of clove extract, 2-30% by weight of Clinacanthus nutans extract, and 0.05-2% by weight of hemp extract to component 1, then stirring the mixture to obtain the pharmaceutical components for topical use in the form of a liquid balm.
