Abstract

This invention relates to a machine for cleaning and sorting materials such as various grains like rice, beans, corn, wheat, cassava, and coffee; agricultural materials such as fertilizer, charcoal, biomass; or various mineral products, to remove husks, residues, dust, and other impurities. The material sorter in this invention comprises a receiving platform; a drive unit mounted on the receiving platform, incorporating a motor and a central shaft; a sorting chamber mounted on the central shaft; a material feeding unit mounted on one end of the sorting chamber; a material discharge unit mounted on the other end of the sorting chamber; a casing comprising upper and lower casings enclosing the sorting chamber, respectively; an air extraction unit mounted on the upper casing; and a material trapping chamber located on the lower casing. The sorting chamber comprises a sorting chamber mounted on the central shaft of the drive unit, enclosed by a chamber wall, with a material flow control mechanism located within the sorting chamber.

Claims (10)

1. The material sorting unit is composed of: - a receiving platform (1); - a drive unit (2) mounted on the receiving platform (1), in which the drive unit (2) is composed of a motor (2.1) and a central shaft (2.2); - a sorting chamber (3) mounted on the central shaft (2.2); - a material feeding unit (4) mounted on one end of the sorting chamber (3); - a material discharge unit (5) mounted on the other end of the sorting chamber (3); - an enclosure (6) composed of an upper enclosure (6.1) and a lower enclosure (6.2) for covering the sorting chamber (3) at the top and bottom, respectively; and - an air extraction unit (7) mounted on the upper enclosure (6.1); and - a material scooping unit (8) which is located on the lower enclosure (6.2) with the following characteristics: The sorting chamber (3) consists of a sorting chamber (3.1) mounted to the central shaft (2.2) of the drive unit (2), which is enclosed by a sorting chamber enclosure (3.2), with a material flow control unit (3.3) arranged inside the sorting chamber (3.1). 2. The material sorting device under claim 1, in which the walls of the sorting chamber (3.2) have a perforated or mesh-like section (3.2.1) and a solid section (3.2.2), where the solid section (3.2.2) is arranged in the vicinity of the material discharge unit (5) connected to the material trapping unit (8). 3. A material sorter under claim 1 or 2 in which the sorting chamber assembly (3) consists of more than one sorting chamber (3.1) formed by a number of sorting chamber dividers (3.4) fitted around the central shaft (2.2) of the drive unit (2) and sorting chamber enclosures (3.2) attached to a number of such sorting chamber dividers (3.4), with a number of material flow control units (3.3) provided within each sorting chamber (3.1). 4. A material sorting machine under claim 3 in which the sorting chamber partitions (3.4) are rectangular plates that are entirely or partially rough in texture or entirely or partially porous in texture. 5. A material separator under any of the claims 1 through 4 in which the material flow control unit (3.3) is of the nature of plates, wholly or partially rough or porous, wholly or partially perforated, connected in a screw-like manner, installed within the separating chamber (3.1) to cause the material to flow forward in accordance with the rotation of the separating chamber unit (3). 6. The material sorter under claim 1, in which the material feed assembly (4) is comprised of the material feed housing (4.1), the material feed impeller (4.2) fitted into the material feed housing (4.1), and the material receiving bin (4.3) fitted into the material feed housing (4.1). 7. The material sorter under claim 1, in which the material discharge assembly (5) consists of the material discharge housing (5.1), the material discharge blade (5.2) fitted into the material discharge housing (5.1), and the material discharge port (5.3) fitted into the material discharge housing (5.1). 8. The material separator under claim 1, in which the material capture chamber (8) is comprised of: - an excess material capture chamber (8.1) installed in a manner connected to the material feed unit (4); - an exit material capture chamber (8.2); and - a heavy dust capture chamber (8.3) installed in a manner connected to the material discharge unit (5). 9. The material separator according to claim 8, in which the material trapping chamber (8) is also incorporated with an air intake control (8.4) installed at the bottom of the material separating chamber (8.2). 10. Material sorting device under claim 9, where the air control section (8.4) is of the form of louvers that can adjust the width of the opening.
