(54) CARBON ELECTRODE WITH METAL CURRENT
The invention relates to electrolysis production, in particular, to designs of electrolyzers with carbon fiber electrodes. The design of carbon-graphite electrodes is known, in particular, an anode having an internal metal current lead in the form of a rod mounted on a thread in the body of a carbon-graphite plate ll. The disadvantage of this design is that during operation when the electrode is heated, as a result of the difference in the thermal expansion coefficients of the metal and the angle of graphite, the electrode breaks down and, as a result, the electrical contact deteriorates. This leads to a reduction in the service life of the electrode. The purpose of the invention is to increase the service life of the electrode by improving the contact of the current lead with the electrode. This goal is achieved by the fact that the electrical power supply is made in the form of one or several elastic metal spirals introduced into a channel in a carbon-graphite electrode, each spiral having a separate power bus. The introduction of a pre-stretched or cooled spiral current lead into the electrode channel after it is straightened ensures a tight fit of the current lead surface to the inner walls of the carbon graphite with a good electrical contact. During operation, due to the elasticity of the electrical power supply for a long time, good contact is maintained without significant mechanical stresses. The drawing shows the proposed electrode with a current lead. Spirals 2,3,4c are inserted into the carbon-graphite plate 1 with corresponding current-carrying tires 5,6,7, which go outside through the hollow electrode holder 8. The electrode holder on the thread is attached to the electrode and to the electrolyzer cover 9. The proposed design of the carbon-graphite electrode allows you to eliminate the temperature the voltage of the electrical power supply in the electrode both in the radial and axial directions, to increase the durability of the electrode.
