Abstract

A fuel injection arrangement for an internal combustion engine having a cylinder head comprises a fuel injection device located against a step in a borein the cylinder head. The device includes a valve member which is spring loaded to a closed position but which is opened by fuel under pressure which flows through an inlet. The device is retained against the step in the bore by a member having a head and a shank portion the latter being in screw thread enlargement in the bore. The shank portion defines a surface to engage an enlargement on the fuel supply pipe and the enlargement also engages surface formed on the device adjacent the inlet. The member therefore serves to retain the pipe in sealing engagement with the inlet and also retains the device in position within the bore.
