(54) METHOD FOR CLEANING GLASS
Ниже приведены составы исследованных стекол, вес.%:The invention relates to the building materials industry, in particular, to methods for producing optical glasses, and can be used to create clean and ultra-pure glasses with high transmittance. A known method of cleaning molten glass from impurities by rotating it 1. The disadvantages of this method of obtaining clean and ultra-pure glasses are the high cost of glass due to the technical complexity of the cooking equipment, as well as the inability to produce glass with a purity higher than the purity of the blended materials. The closest to the proposed technical essence is the method of melt purification by introducing into the mixture an additive in the form of an organic reducing agent impregnated with water-soluble sulfates 2. The purpose of the invention is to reduce the content of impurities in the glass due to extraction. The goal is achieved by the fact that the alkali metal salt is introduced into the proposed method as an additive, as well. heat treatment is carried out at 1000–1200С for 1–3 h. In this case, a liquid layer is formed that is not miscible with the glass melt and protects it from contamination by impurities from the atmosphere. The impurity is extracted from the glass-forming melt into the alkali metal salt melt, which at 1000-1200 ° C and holding it for 1-3 hours allows reducing the impurity content by 1-2 times. An example of the implementation of the method is the purification of sodium borate and sodium germanate glasses by extracting an impurity into a sodium sulfate melt. For this purpose, 1 kg of sodium sulfate is added to the mixture calculated for 1 kg of glass. The synthesis is carried out in quartz crucibles, the impurity concentration is determined spectroscopically. Below are the compositions of the investigated glasses, wt.%:
In tab. reflect the temperature and time of synthesis, the ratio of impurity concentrations in the glasses before and after cleaning.
The proposed glass cleaning method allows to significantly reduce the content of impurities in the glass.
