Description
The present invention relates to a rail joint for railroad rails designed to eliminate butt impacts when wheels of a rolling stock pass through a butt gap. This is achieved by correspondingly changing the shape of the butt cover of the usual apron type without changing the design of the rails themselves.
A distinctive feature of the proposed design, compared to the known ones, is that by using the said overlays, the rail joint results in an overlap joint, which solves the problem of smooth rolling of the wheels through the joint and at the same time eliminates the need to change the rail profile at the ends. . This achieves the preservation of the usual, simple method of rolling rails and the possibility of using the joint of the proposed construction on railways without replacing the rails.
The protrusions of paired plates, placed between the docked ends of the rails, give a complete outline of the rail head when the pads are in a shut-up state; the gap is connected to the end of the second rail.
1 и 2).FIG. 1 shows a side view of the joint; in fig. 2 - top view; in fig. 3 is a cross section along ab (Fig. 1 and 2); in fig. 4 is a cross section of cd (Fig. 1 and 2).
As shown in FIG. 1 and 2, for the application of the said linings when laying the new track, the ends of the rails should be moved apart by a distance n (equal to about 80-100 lsh). When using linings on railways, the worn ends of rails at the joints are cut to the 1st bolt hole, thanks to which the required distance n between the ends of the rails is obtained.
To obtain a smooth rolling of the wheels through the joint, a gap n between the rails is filled with slots of the butt plates, each having a length less than the distance n by the amount of the required temperature gap. Holes in the lining should be designed so that one of the projections e is tightly pressed to the foot end of the rail,
