В основной своей части, соприкасающейс со струнами, механизм состоит из выход щих из корпуса арфы осей, несущих на себе вилочки или диски с двум пальцами, зажимающими и укорачивающими струны при поворачивании осей. Крепление вилочек или дисков с пальцами на | ос х -осуществл етс либо посредством навинчивани их на концы осей до упора, либо применением граней на верхушках осей и соответственных фигурных вырезов в вилочках или дисках. Последние закрепл ютс в нужном положении стопорными винтами.
