The proposed machine is intended for cutting coarse-like plants for livestock feed.

The soft-stemmed stalks of plants, such as maize, are well absorbed when fed to animals.

In terms of the arrangement of the feeding mechanism and the machine’s apparatus’s condition, it is in part similar to the salt cutters and, in part, to the well-known feed preparation machines, i.e., the cutting apparatus of the drum type.

However, it differs from the known machines of this kind in that it also uses a mobile drum located in the casing under the cutting unit of the machine and interacting with the gear deck.

Thanks to such a device, the rugged mass undergoes additional grinding by blows and chafing, which results in a well-digestible animal feed from coarse-toed plants, mainly from corn stalks.

The cutting body of the machine is the drum 1, on which four knives 2 and four strips 3 are fastened along a helical line, alternately positioned through the knife.
