Description
(k) СПОСОБ АКТИВАЦИИ ИЗДЕЛИЙ ЗАРЯЖЕННЫМИ ЧАСТИЦАМИ(k) METHOD FOR ACTIVATING PRODUCTS BY CHARGED PARTICLES
The invention relates to laser physics and is intended to carry out the activation of products by accelerated particles. Similar activation of samples and parts of machines, mechanisms or devices, for example on a cyclotron, is widely used in various studies of the transfer of substances, such as wear and tear, spraying, etc. in the work on the study and change of the structure and properties of materials and during activation analysis. There is a method of carrying out such activation, when the investigated surface area of products is irradiated with a beam of accelerated charged particles of a given type and selected fixed energy. The activity induced in this case is distributed over the depth of the material according to a law strictly determined by the mode of irradiation. This activity distribution is obtained in preliminary experiments. This method eliminates the possibility of controlling the form of distribution of activity over the depth of the irradiated product, since it only provides for knowledge and use of the known curve. However, there are tasks when the distribution of activity over depth should not only be known in the form in which it occurs naturally, but also select its shape. For example, with the same method of controlling wear, it may be necessary to have a sufficiently large depth of the active layer to determine the full life of the mechanism and at the same time a large activity gradient in the outermost layers to study on the same part and the initial stage of wear, say running-in.
Кроме того, при линейной форме кривой распределени во всех случа х упрощаетс обработка результатов , и :чyiзctвитeльнocть вплоть до некоторой глубины становитс посто нной .Another example of a given distribution can be the uniform distribution of activity, similar to that obtained with neutron activity. This pattern of activity distribution is important to have in the case of repeated use of the activated product in independent measurements. In addition, with the linear distribution curve in all cases, the processing of the results is simplified, and: it becomes constant up to a certain depth down to a certain depth.
The proposed method allows solving such problems, i.e. get in the label the distribution of activity of the desired form. The essence of the method is that particles with different penetrating powers take part in the creation of activity in the label. For one material, the penetrability is determined by the type and energy of the particles. Thus, to obtain controlled activation, it is proposed to use a combination of different irradiation modes, which can be both independent different accelerator tuning modes, and derivatives of a single tuning mode, obtained from it either by accelerating a mixture of different types of ions or by decelerating particles.
To obtain in this case the resulting activity distribution curve and for. the solution is more interesting; the reverse task is to decompose a curve of a given shape into components, it is necessary to have distribution curves for each of the used independent irradiation modes, conventionally called reference curves.
An increased activity gradient on the surface with a significant total depth of the active layer can be obtained in two ways: sequential irradiation with particles of the same type, but different energy values.
В принципе во всех задачах возможна и комбинаци из частиц разного типа ;, и разных значений энергии.rt simultaneous or alternate / irradiation with particles of different types. In principle, in all problems, a combination of particles of different types; and different values of energy is possible.
Decomposition of a given form of the distribution of activity into components can be carried out both graphically and analytically; only one or several initial reference curves are necessary.
многократно использовать одну активиро- ванную деталь дл контрол зависимости уноса вещества от различных параметров, а также на одной детали или образце исследовать и поверхностные и более -глубокие процессы без существенной потери чувствительности .Thus, the proposed controlled activation method allows not only to simplify the application of the activation surface method in its existing applications, but also to obtain some additional possibilities for its use. With its help, it becomes possible to repeatedly use one activated part to control the dependence of entrainment of a substance on various parameters, as well as to investigate both surface and more deep processes without significant loss of sensitivity.
