Description
Until now, the preparation of a series of ceramic products, facing, refractory and others, was made from a mixture of respectively crushed, pre-baked raw material with a greater or lesser amount of the same raw material in natural condition. An example of such products are chamotte products, magnesite, bauxite, and to a large extent so called. Marquard masses. Thus, the process of manufacturing such products includes double firing: the first is the firing of raw materials for fireclay and the second is the firing of the molded products.
The first roasting considerably complicates the course of production and sushi; The manufacture of such products directly from natural raw materials, without. burning part of them on chamotte is considered impossible both in wet and dry production methods, due to excessive shrinkage of products during drying and firing, causing raw raw materials to be deformed and cracked during drying, and due to the excessive density of its shard, detrimental to the qualities of the finished product .
д.The proposed method avoids the first firing of fireclay and thus significantly contributes to the simplification and cheapening of the production of a number of the most important building materials, such as: chipboard, magnesite, etc.
The method consists in the fact that the basic raw material in a dry form is subjected to fine grinding, after which a suitable and appropriately prepared amount of burnable material and water are added to it to impart porosity. The mixture in dry or almost dry form is then molded into articles by the use of powerful mechanical presses. After firing, the products made by this method have a high homogeneity of the structure and the required degree of porosity, excellent thermal and chemical resistance, the necessary thermal conductivity and sufficient mechanical strength.
