Выпущенна в СССР машина ДСМ (дес тиклавишна счетна машина) производит , суммирование с одновременной записью на бумажной ленте подсчитываемых цифр. Практика эксплоатации машины ДСМ вы вила необходимость печатать на ленте не только суммы, но и номера каждого документа. При разрешении этого вопроса можно было бы использовать бумажную ленту машины ДСМ как ведомость-опись и отказатьс от составлени таковой вручную или на обычной пишущей машине. Дл этой цели необходим механизм, автоматизирующий включение и выключение счетчика , который при печатании номера выключал бы счетчик, а при печатании суммы включал бы его.
