Description
Pulsed gas-discharge light sources are widely distributed in various fields of technology. In each case, these light sources have special requirements regarding the luminous parameters, dimensions of the discharge gap, etc. The variety of co-structures and characteristics of flash lamps correspond to numerous and very different electric circuits controlling their operation. One of the options is the use of a pulsed mode with a pilot arc supporting the ionization of the gas in the discharge gap in the periods between flashes. As a rule, the arcing arc is created by a separate DC source, and the pulsed discharge is provided by imposing on the arcing arc powerful current pulses, the flow of which is controlled by the pulsed gas (hydrogen) thyratron. When the thyratron is open, the precharged capacitor is discharged to the flash lamp. The duration of the flash is regulated by the inductance of the other connected in series with the lamp and the capacitance of the capacitor.
It is also known to control a pulsed xenon lamp in a stand-by arc mode, maintained by a voltage applied to the lamp electrodes, and a high-frequency high-voltage voltage applied to its external electrode. A powerful bit is created by a semiconductor amplifier operating in the mode of amplifying unipolar pulses.
The disadvantage of this circuit is the large power losses on the upstream triode, due to the amplification mode of its operation, as a result of which cooling radiators of a large size are needed. This disadvantage also limits (with real-life semiconductor devices) the applicability of the circuit for controlling powerful pulsed lamps (100 W of integrated electric power in upon

In the proposed device for controlling pulsed gas discharge lamps operating in the mode of frequently repeated high-power pulses with a pilot arc, the semiconductor triode operating in the key mode is used as a control element, and the power supply source is equipped with a storage capacitor. The possibility of obtaining on the control three
