Abstract

FIELD: electrophysical methods of machining of current-conducting materials. SUBSTANCE: electro-erosion alloying is carried out by superposition of sound oscillations on electrode-tool. Delivery of process current pulses is synchronized with vibrations of the electrode-tool, the pulses are applied between two contacts of the electrode with the workpiece. Before the process current pulses, exciting current pulses are applied. Within one cycle of ultrasonic vibrations the exciting current pulse begins at the instant of electrode contact with the workpiece and ends after application of the process current pulse. The pulse overlap time is determined according to the given dependence, including the current amplitudes and process current pulse length.
