Abstract

FIELD: surface hardening and application of coatings by laser facing. SUBSTANCE: the offered method consists in creation of difference of potentials between the electrodes of plasma generator and application of a discrete portion of sprayed material in the form of powder onto the cathode end. Then, an electric discharge is initiated between the electrodes by action of laser beam on the backing. The plasma generator electrodes are positioned normally to the backing in contact with laser flame of vapors of the backing material. Due to the are discharge, sprayed material acts on the backing with the aid of a high-speed plasma jet. EFFECT: enhanced operating characteristics of surface layers of various friction parts. 2 dwg
