Description
The invention relates to methods for purifying waste gases from carbon monoxide and may find application in the chemical, petrochemical, engineering and other industries.
The aim of the invention is to reduce the temperature of the cleaning process.
In the laboratory reactor load 4 ml of catalyst. A gas-air mixture with 1.0 vol.% CO is passed at a gas velocity of 30,000 through a layer of catalyst heated at 200 ° C, followed by a gradual rise in temperature and periodic monitoring of the CO content in the gas at the outlet of the catalyst.
As a catalyst, a product formed from the burning of sludge from a tannery treatment facility containing chromium oxides, calcium, magnesium, calcium chromates, magnesium and silicon dioxide is used as a catalyst in the following ratio of components by weight: chromium oxide 12-15, calcium oxides and magnesium
40-42, calcium and magnesium chromates 4-9, silica - the rest.
A change in the composition of the proposed catalyst within a few wt.%, Due to the inadequacy of the composition of the feedstock sludge from sewage treatment plants, does not affect the gas cleaning temperature.
The table shows the composition and process indicators.
As can be seen from the table, at a space velocity of 30,000, a 50% purification rate is reached at 230-240 ° C, which is 60-70 ° C lower than the known method, where the process temperature is 300 ° C.
