Description
Resinous substances obtained by the action of sulfur dichloride on oxybenzene, have the property of being placed from weak alkaline solutions on the treated fibers and other substrates and fixing on them the water-indelible basic dye stains; Their disadvantage, however, is that they dye the substrates in a yellowish color and, when dyed with basic dyes, are adversely reflected on the tone of the dye and on the purity. One of the ways to eliminate this drawback is that sulfur-containing compounds are treated with alkaline or reducing substances in alkaline solutions.
In the proposed method, the above resinous substances are subjected to high-temperature treatment with hydroxybenzenesulfonic acids, which turn them into compounds that are colorless and located on the fibers and act as a mordant on the base dyes. A modification of this method, leading to the formation of compounds with similar properties, which also have the quality that they form much more light-resistant varnishes with basic dyes, consists in the interaction of the reaction product of sulfur dichloride with oxybenzenes with concentrated sulfuric acid at high temperature and the resulting resin is heated up to 200-240 ° C in the presence of an excess of oxybepzol for some time. Excess hydroxybenzene can be removed by distillation. The resulting condensation product is, after cooling, a brittle mass, almost non-staining in sodium carbonate solution, not acidified by acids, and at the boiling point of water, but again falling out in the form of light flakes.
Example-. 330 parts of a sulfur-containing compound obtained by the action of 320 parts of sulfuric chloride on 188 parts of oxybenzene are fused to 320 parts of crude hydroxybenzene sulfonic acid, which is obtained by the action of one molecule
The temperature is gradually rising to 160 ° -170 ° C. The liquid at first melts and the reaction is completed for 1-2 hours. The resulting resinous substance is easily dissolved in a solution of sodium carbonate.
Froze 320 parts of the sulfur-containing compound, which served as the starting material in the 1st example, are fused with 640 parts of the crude oxybenzene sulfonic acid at elevated temperatures. Already at 120 ° C, an intense reaction occurs. The temperature is maintained up to i70 ° -175 ° C until the mass becomes thick. The resulting uncolored substance is dissolved in a solution of sodium carbonate.
Example 3. To a condensation product of 94 parts of okbybenzene and 68 parts of sulfur dichloride are slowly poured, shaking up at 90 ° -100 ° C, 57 parts of monohydrate. There comes a vigorous reaction. Increase the temperature within 1-2 hours to 210-220 ° C, adjusting the inflow of hydroxybenzene in small quantities so that
Оста вша с масса без окраски раствор етс в растворе углекислого натра,so that the latter is always in abundance. The temperature is then maintained for another hour at 210-220 ° C, after which the excess oxnbeisol is distilled under vacuum, raising the temperature to 240 ° C. The residual mass without coloration dissolves in a solution of sodium carbonate,
