This invention relates to metallurgy, namely, the remelting of scrap aluminum and its alloys in an induction crucible furnace.
The aim of the invention is to improve the quality of the alloys and the service life of the furnace by reducing the content of non-metallic inclusions and hydrogen and increasing the service life of the furnace by eliminating the impact on the lining.
П р и м е р. PRI me R. In an induction crucible furnace of type IAT-0, 4, a bath of technically pure aluminum of grade A7 is directed. In the melt load. spherical elements with a diameter of 0 m from chamotte with a density of 2.35 g / cm, previously soaked in kerosene, in an amount of 6 kg (2 by weight of the melt). Then, the SILOO brand pig siluminate is added to the liquid metal, and the own production is returned. As smelting is conducted, the charge is charged until the crucible is completely filled with metal melt. When a melt is stirred by the electromagnetic field of a furnace inductor, spherical elements from a melt-resistant material with a density equal to or close to the density of a liquid aluminum alloy fall into vortex flows and, in contact with non-metallic inclusions, coagulate them. Slags penetrate into the chamotte through open pores in the matrix, as well as through micropores in coarse refractory grains. In the process of smelting, slag formations are removed, in which spherical elements, which are the coagulation centers of nonmetallic inclusions, are found.

9.the melt is brought to and then 0.3 of the purified metal is poured into the crucible of the holding furnace. After treating the molten metal with spherical elements, samples are taken for analysis of gas-containing values of the AL9 alloy.
1 и 2.The test results, depending on the diameter values and the number of spherical elements introduced, are given in Table. 1 and 2.
For comparison, alloy AL9 was melted by a conventional method, the concentration of hydrogen 0.5 g of metal.
0,3-0,4°.The content of aluminum oxide in the alloy obtained by the proposed method decreases from 0.6-0.7 to 0.3-0.4 °.
As can be seen from the tabular data, the proposed method allows to increase the purity of the resulting metal by reducing the hydrogen content. The experiment also showed that the service life of the crucible of the IAT-O furnace, between repairs, increases from 6-8 to 12-13 months.

The application of the proposed method of remelting non-ferrous metals makes it possible to improve the quality of the smelted metal by reducing the content of gaseous and oxide inclusions in the melt. This increases the service life of induction furnace crucibles, since the impact on the furnace lining is reduced.
