Abstract

Novel form of Na orthophosphate (I) has a Na/P ratio of 5/3 and comprises a single crystalline phase. (I) may be produced by (a) preparing a soln. of mono- and disodium orthophosphate having an overall Na/P ratio of 1.657-1.677, and (b) injecting the soln. into the low-pressure zone of a high-velocity vortex flow of hot gas, whereby the soln. is dispersed in the gas phase and then crystallised. (I) is further characterised by its X-ray diffraction pattern and is assigned the formula Na5H4(PO4)3. The process is pref. carried out in an appts. comprising a dispersion head, a bioconical reaction vessel and a cyclone separator. The dispersion head comprises an axial inlet for the soln. and a tangential gas inlet located in an annular zone defined by a perforated cone surrounding the axial inlet.

Description

This invention relates to the technology of sodium tripolyphosphate used in the manufacture of synthetic detergents.

Целью изобретени   вл етс  снижение содержани  нерастворимых форм в продукте при отсутствии его схватывани  .The aim of the invention is to reduce the content of insoluble forms in the product in the absence of its seizure.

Example. Phosphoric acid is neutralized with sodium hydroxide solution so that the molar ratio of Na: P in the mixture is 5: 3. The resulting solution is fed at a speed of 5 m / s in a swirling flow of gaseous heat carrier with a temperature of 880 ° C supplied with a flow rate of 50 nm / h. The outlet heat carrier temperature is maintained at 405-420 ° C. The ratio of the amount of motion of the gas phase and the solution is maintained between 1000 and 10,000. Tripolyphosphate is obtained with

97%. The content of the insoluble form of 0.01%. The product does not set.

According to a known technical solution, sodium tripolyphosphate is obtained, containing 3% of an insoluble form.

The table shows the effect of various parameters on the properties of the product.
