Abstract

PURPOSE:To utilize heat efficiently, by gasifying powder dust coke occurring in the process of coke production to prepare gas fuel and by calcining limestone by means of heat generated in the gasification. CONSTITUTION:Powder coke (e.g., dust coke occurring in the process of coke production) and powder limestone are fed from the shute 21 and the shute 27 respectively to the falling region of flow particles in the fluidized reactor 1, and oxygen is fed to the reactor with its amount controlled from the inlet pipe 8 and the air conduit 13 so that the temperature in the reactor is maintained at 850- 950 deg.C, above the temperature of limestone decomposition to effect limestone calcination (decarboxylation). The powder coke and powder limestone to be fed to the reactor 1 are preferably preheated by the dryer 5 and the suspension preheater 4, etc. respectively.
