Abstract
The invention relates to optical fibers, in particular, to methods of connecting multi-fiber cables, and allows to reduce insertion loss by providing input and control of the radiation during alignment through the full lengths of the connected cables. To input and control radiation at the remote ends of the cable sections, the fibers are optically integrated. The radiation is inputted at the junction of the cables into one of the fibers of one segment, and the radiation is monitored at the output of one of the fibers of the other segment. Align one pair of fibers to the maximum of the controlled radiation and record the alignment coordinates of this pair of fibers. The fibers of this pair are then used to enter and control the radiation and alternately adjust the maximum of the monitored radiation and fix all other fiber pairs, after which they coordinate the registered fiber coordinates used to enter and control the radiation and fix it. 1 il.
Description
The invention relates to optical drives and is intended, in particular, for use in connecting multi-fiber trunk and city optical communication cables.
The purpose of the invention is to reduce the insertion loss in the fiber joints by providing input and control of radiation during adjustment through full lengths of the connected cables.
The drawing shows a diagram of the installation process.
11.The drawing shows fibers of two lengths of connected cables 1-4 and I1-41, respectively, emitter 5, photodetector 6, indicator 7, adjustment device 8 with coordinate readings, mounting zone (fixing fibers) zone 9, optical combiners 10 and telephone well 11.
The installation of the cable according to the proposed method is as follows.
Оператор устанавливает на противоположных концах участков сращиваемых длин многоволоконных световодных кабелей оптические объединители (например, шлейфо- вые ответвители) 10 так, что часть энергии из одного волокна кабел можег передаватьс во все другие волокна этого кабел .The operator installs optical combiners (for example, stub couplers) 10 at opposite ends of the spliced lengths of the multi-fiber optical fiber cables so that part of the energy from one fiber of the cable can be transferred to all other fibers of this cable.
A radiation source 5 is connected to one of the fibers, for example to 1 (in well II, where splicing occurs), and an optical signal power meter with indicator device 7 is connected to fiber I1. When the radiation source 5 is turned on, the optical signal passes through fiber 1, due to the combiner 10 enters the fiber 4-, which together with the fiber 4 is placed in an alignment device 8, with which the fibers 4 and 4 are adjusted to

Последними сращиваютс волокна 4 и 4 их повторна стыковка осуществл етс по зарегистрированным ранее координатам.as long as the indicator signal meter 7 power will not be registered maximum signal. The coordinates of the fibers 4 and 41 in this position are recorded (recorded). Then fiber 4 and 4 are disconnected and a radiation source 5 and a power meter 6 with an indicator device 7 are connected to them, respectively. Then, in the mounting zone 9, the pairs of fibers 1 and 1 are alternately aligned at the maximum signal. 2 and 2, 3 and 3. The last spliced fibers 4 and 4 are their repeated joining according to the previously recorded coordinates.
