Description

Methods are known for using ultrasound and electrical discharges for degassing a metal. However, liquid metal is exposed to them.

A feature of the present invention is that gases are removed from a solid metal at a low temperature, for which the metal is placed in a liquid medium in which an ultrasonic field is created or electrical discharges are produced. This method can shorten the processing time and increase the degree of recovery of the elastic properties of the metal.

The degassing of the solid metal is carried out after its electrochemical or chemical treatment in aqueous solutions of salts, acids or alkalis, since as a result of this treatment the metal is saturated with gases, such as hydrogen. Decontamination is carried out in spun oil at an ultrasound frequency of 36 and 21 kHz, respectively for 30 and 150 seconds, at 60 °. Instead of spun oil, gasoline, alcohol, and glycerin can be used to degass steel.

Metal degassing by means of a shock wave of an electric discharge is carried out in distilled water at 20 °. The distance of the product from the discharge is 70 mm, the period of the discharge is 0.3 s, the number of electrical discharges is 4 in 10 s of treatment.

Subject invention

The method of degassing metals and alloys in the solid state, in which the processing is carried out in a liquid medium in which an ultrasonic field is created, for example, in the mode: frequency 6-100 kHz at a temperature of 20-60 °, or high-voltage electrical discharge d.
