Abstract

FIELD: cleaning of metal surface. SUBSTANCE: device has vacuum chamber 1, anode 2, electrode 3 for excitation provided with holder 4, current source 5, photosensor 6, voltage source 7, actuator 8, contactor 9 with starting circuit 11, and anode current pickup 12. Actuator 8 is kinematically coupled with holder 4 of excitation electrode 3. Current source 5 is connected to anode 2 through anode current pickup 12 and excitation electrode 3 through normally open contact 10. The device provides automatic ignition of cathode arc discharge using excitation electrode 3, removing excitation electrode 3 from zone of cathode arc discharge and control of it by anode current pickup 12 and photosensor 6 during cleaning.
