Изобретение относитс  к металлургии , в частности к термообработке быстрорежущей стали в сол ных ваннах. Целью изобретени   вл етс  уменьшение обезуглероживани  и обезлегиро- вани  при нагреве в сол ных ваннах. Инструмент из быстрорежущей стали подогревают в расплаве, состо щем из 85-92% буры и 8-15% оксида магни , а окончательный нагрев под закалку до 1200-1300 С провод т в расплаве из хлористого бари .
