Description
The present invention relates to methods for producing electrical contacts using cermet technology of copper or silver with the addition of tungsten or molybdenum compounds.
The proposed method differs from the known ones in that molybdenum or tungsten disilicides added to copper or silver in an amount of 3-30 weight percent are used as these compounds.
The use of this method allows to obtain contacts with high resistance to welding, arc resistance and wear resistance.
According to the proposed method, the electrical contacts are made of metal-ceramic compositions based on silver or copper, obtained by displacing the powder of the corresponding metal with the powder of molybdenum disilicide or tungsten.
The content of disilicide in the composition depends on the purpose of the electrical contact and the requirements imposed on it. If a particularly high resistance to welding is necessary, the metal disilicide content should approach the maximum (30%). To achieve the lowest possible electrical transient resistance, the content of disilicide in the composition should approach the minimum (3%). In general, the optimum content of molybdenum disilicide or tungsten is 10-15 weight percent in these compositions.
From the composition thus obtained, contacts of the desired shape are pressed.
To increase the ability of the contact to weld or braze when fixing it in the contact holder, it is advisable to make a two-layer contact, made the working part of the metal-disilicide composition, and the lower non-working layer of pure metal — copper or silver. In that
No. 130593-2, when pressed into a mold, a layer of copper or silver powder is then poured, and then a layer of a powder mixture. The thickness of the copper or silver layer in the finished contact should be about 0.3 m. The pressing process in the manufacture of two-layer contact is carried out in the usual way at a pressure of from 2 to 6 tons / cm.
The pressed contacts are sintered in a protective atmosphere (nitrogen, hydrogen) or in vacuum at a temperature of 950 for 2-4 hours. Then the sintered contacts are pressed at a pressure of 6-10 t / cm.
In some cases, in order to increase plasticity, the contacts after the pressing are subjected to annealing at a low temperature and heated to 300-500 ° for 0.5-2 hours.
