Description
The invention relates to the production of leathers, namely to their chemical analysis.
The aim of the invention is to improve the accuracy of measuring the content of 5 * chromium (III), i.e. improving the quality of control of chrome leather.
The essence of the invention lies in the fact that the determination of the total chromium content introduced into the skin in *, the tanning process, is carried out with simultaneous control of its valence state, i.e. by determining the content of chromium (III) and chromium CVI) in the skin.
The determination is carried out by the diphenylcarbazide method in two parallel samples, one of which is obtained by dissolving a sample of the skin in concentrated 20 sulfuric acid at 60-70 ° C for 1-1.5 hours, thus determining the content of chromium (VI) in skin. Another weight is obtained by dissolving in a mixture of concentrated sulfuric, nitric and 40% perchloric acids, thus chromium (III) in the skin is transferred to chromium (VI) in chromium and the content of all chromium contained in the skin is determined .
The optical density of the colored solutions is determined by spectrophotometry. By the difference in results, the content of chromium (III) in the skin is judged.
(VI).The choice of the conditions for dissolving a sample of the skin in concentrated sulfuric acid is due to the fact that at a temperature below 60 ° C, dissolution is slow, and at a higher temperature (above 70 ° C) or when boiling, the oxidation of chromium (III) to chromium (VI) occurs. Within 1-1.5 h at 60-70 C and there is complete solution of the sample of the skin that determines skin is in chromium (VI).
The proposed method is as follows.
Sample 1. 1 g of leather chips (or dust) is dissolved in 40 ml of 92 96% sulfuric acid in a temperature-controlled water bath at 60-70 ° C for 1-1.5 hours. Two aliquots of a solution containing 0.005 are taken with a pipette -0.015 mg chromium (as' 1 mL) and diluted to 60 ml distilled water 53 Rowan. Methyl orange is added to one part as an indicator, and it is precisely neutralized with an 8% sodium hydroxide solution. A specified amount of an 8% sodium hydroxide solution is added to the second aliquot, after which 3.3 ml of sulfuric acid is added (1: 5). The whole solution is poured into a 100 ml volumetric flask. Then add 1 ml of the reagent prepared by dissolving 4 g of phthalic anhydride and 0.25 g of diphenylcarbazide in 100 ml of 95% ethanol. t The solution is adjusted to the mark 'and the optical density is determined on a spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 540 μm. The calibration curve is constructed using a standard solution of dichromate in the presence of 1 ml of a solution of non-chromed skin.
In this way, the content of chromium (VI) in the sample of the skin is determined.
(VI).Sample 2. 1 g of leather chips (or dust) is transferred to a flask of heat-resistant glass with a capacity of 250 ml. 8 ml of concentrated nitric acid (1.30 density), 12 ml of concentrated sulfuric acid (1.84 density), 10 ml of 40% perchloric acid and · 0.1 g of manganese dioxide are added to the flask. The contents of the flask are boiled in a fume hood until the organic part of the sample is completely burned, as judged by the cessation of the release of brown nitrogen oxides. In this case, the color of the solution due to the oxidation of chromium changes from green to orange. Thus, the oxidation of chromium (III) to chromium (VI) occurs.
Distilled water is added to the cooled solution to a total volume of about 100 ml, and the contents of the flask are filtered into a flask with a capacity of 500 ml to separate manganese dioxide. The filter is washed with distilled water. Next, the determination of all chromium in the form of chromium (VI) is carried out using the described diphenylcarbazide method.
The determined minimum is 0.01 μg / ml.
