Description
In the known wire strain gauges, made in the form of a flat wire grid, inserted together with the lead ends into a textile tape of insulating material, the tape is the warp threads interlacing with the wire grid forming weft yarn.
To reliably strengthen the wire grid and to give it a different shape, the base of the proposed sensor is made in the form of a two-piece fabric, one of which serves as a wire mesh. To increase the reliability of the insulation and to eliminate the need to use an additional insulation substrate, the width of the textile tape must exceed the length of the wire grid, together with the lead ends located on the front side of the tape. The wire mesh can be located on one side of the textile tape and attached to it by separate yarns.
FIG. 1 shows in two projections the blank of the proposed wire strain gauge; in fig. 2 - in two projections ready sensor.
The base of the sensor is a textile tape formed by insulating yarns of the base Y and weft 2. The second weft is a wire grid 3 of a material with high electrical resistivity, forming a series of loops. The material of the insulation base and weft is selected in accordance with the temperature and other conditions of the sensor operation. Such a sensor can be manufactured either by weaving on a conventional ribbon weaving machine, or by weaving it or by using a weaving of a textile ribbon with a wire grid on lace and other machines.
The wire mesh can also be attached to the surface of the textile tape with individual threads or staples.

To increase the reliability of fastening the ends of the wire loops and eliminate the need to use an additional insulating substrate, the width of the textile tape must exceed the length of the loops of the wire mesh of the sensor.
The wire grating can be made not only with parallel loops, but also of any other shape, for example in the form of a flat star.
5.Short tires 4 are soldered to or welded to the wire, at the beginning and end of each wire grid, serving as the lead ends of the sensors. To improve the insulation properties and better bond the wire mesh to the fabric, the textile tape can be impregnated or coated with a special varnish, glue or cement, the composition of which is chosen from the working conditions of the strain gauge. The tape thus obtained is cut into pieces, which are separate ready-made sensors 5.
The proposed design of a wire strain gauge sensor allows fabrication of sensors for sushi, which is used by equipment of the textile industry with the complete mechanization of all technological processes, and ensures uniformity of sensor characteristics.
