Шпиндель патрона / представл ет собой трубу, установленную в корпусе на двух подщипниках качени . На одном из концов щпиндел  на шлицах установлена шестерн . Через коническую и цилиндрическую шестерни, установленные на валу, шпиндель получает прерывистое вращательное движение от механизма поворота стана. В шпинделе выполнено три радиальных паза, з которых установлены кулачк 2, предназначенные дл  зажати  трубы. Кулачки имеют Т-образную форму. Выступающие над шпинделем части кулачков выполнены с уклоном 1 : 5 и вставлены в соответствующие пазы стакаиа. Стакан центрирован относительно наружной поверхности шпиндел  при помощи втулки. На наружной поверхности стакана при помощи втулки сцентрирована траверса 3, котора  носредством двух приливов соединена со штоками двух гидравлических цилиндров 4. Перемещение поршней 5 гидравлических цилиндров слева направо приводит к радиальному ходу кулачков к центру шпиндел  - зажатию трубы. Перемещение поршней цилиндров справа налево приводит к радиальному ходу кулачков от центра шпиндел  к его периферии - освобождению трубы. Моменты открывани  и закрывани  кулачков патрона строго согласованы с ходом рабочей клети стана, что обеспечиваетс  управлением гидравлическими цилиндрами.
