Действие устройства основано на передаче сигналов с помощью электрических импульсов, создаваемых тахогенератором / или коммутатором , установленным на валу турбобура 2. Импульсы передаютс  посредством пары электродов, одним из которых служит труба 3, а другим - изолированна  от нее втулка 4. При подаче импульсов между электродами 3 и 4 через заполн ющую скважину жидкость и окружающую породу протекает ток. Этот ток создает разность потенциалов между трубой и поверхностью земли, котора  фиксируетс , с помощью соответствующих измерительных приборов 5.The device is based on the transmission of signals using electric pulses generated by a tachogenerator / switch mounted on the shaft of the turbo-drill 2.
