The invention relates to the study of the strength properties of materials, and specifically to methods for determining the degree of fatigue damage of a material. There is a method for determining the degree of fatigue failure, which consists in attaching thermoelectrodes of a differential thermocouple to two points of a test sample of a material. loading and register in the process of loading thermo-emf, which is judged on the degree of fatigue failure p. The disadvantage of the known method is the complexity associated with the use of a special measuring device. The closest to the proposed technical essence and the achieved result is a method for determining the degree of fatigue damage of a material, which consists in loading a sample of the material under investigation by alternating loading, measuring the strain and compression and compression deformations and the ratio of fatigue damage . The tensile and compressive deformations are measured in the adjacent half-cycles of the symmetric loading cycle fZ. A disadvantage of the known method lies in its low accuracy caused by residual stresses of the second kind influencing the properties of the material under study. These stresses, unevenly distributed over the grains of a polycrystalline material, affect the type of diagram of alternating strain. In addition, the comparison of deformations in adjacent half cycles reflects not the degree of fatigue damage itself, but the kinetics of the deformed state of the material. The purpose of the invention is to improve the accuracy of determining the degree of fatigue damage to a material by eliminating the effect of residual stresses. This goal is achieved in that according to the method for determining the degree of fatigue damage of a material, which consists in loading a sample of the material under study by alternating load, measuring the strain and compression and deformation and judging by its ratio the degree. fatigue damage, loading of the sample is carried out by sequential loading of it over asymmetric cycles of stretching and compression, and measuring the amplitudes of the dynamic components of the deformation. The method is carried out as follows. A sample of the material is loaded with a cyclic load in a given mode of soft (voltage amplitude is given) or hard (strain amplitude) test. Under this loading, the number of loading cycles is recorded and periodically (for example, for steel U8 every 10 cycles), the test is interrupted and the test loading of the specimen is relieved to determine the fatigue damage. To do this, the specimen is loaded sequentially through asymmetric extension and contraction cycles. In this case, the ratio of the static component of the load to its amplitude is greater than one, and the amplitudes of the dynamic components of the specimen deformation are measured. The amplitudes of the dynamic components of the deformation of the specimen under tension and compression have different values due to a decrease in the elastic modulus of the material during fatigue damage. Based on the ratio of the amplitudes indicated, fatigue damage to the material is judged. The effect of residual stresses is eliminated here, since the material in the control mode is elastically deformed. I ../., Then continue testing of the material sample in a given mode, peri odicly repeat control loading. According to the test results of the sample, the degree of fatigue damage of the material is determined as a function of the number of cycles of primary loading. When testing the remaining samples of the same material in the same mode of main loading, there is no need to register the number of loading cycles. As a result of the control tests of these specimens, the ratio of the amplitudes of its deformation is determined and, taking into account the dependence established during the testing of the first specimen, their degree of damage is determined.
