Abstract

There are provided a method for preparing a sulfonium salt and a sulfonium salt prepared by the method. The method includes a first step of adding a compound represented by formula (2) to a compound represented by formula (1) and subjecting the compounds to a trans-esterification reaction to produce a reaction intermediate; and a second step of adding an inorganic salt to the reaction intermediate and subjecting the compounds to a substitution reaction to produce a compound represented by the following formula (3): [Formula 3] wherein R3, Q1, Q2, X, M, n and m are defined in the Specification. The method for preparing a sulfonium salt has simplified reaction steps, and at the same time, can be produced with markedly high yields by the method of the present invention.
