Abstract

SYSTEMS AND METHODS HARNESSING ENERGY FROM OCEAN WAVES, TIDAL STREAM AND WIND WITH USE OF FLOATING VESSELS A system of harnessing energy from ocean waves, tidal stream and wind using a floating vessel; said floating vessel connected to a wharf by a plurality of cam means; said cam means including a lever connected to the floating vessel which also has a plurality of air storage tanks; plurality of double acting piston pumps; and heat exchangers or other devices. The up and down movements of the floating vessel caused by the ocean waves, tidal stream and wind moves the lever up and down, causing rotation of the cam means, to activate the piston pumps to compress air in air storage tanks, causing the air to be heated, and passing the hot air through heat exchangers or other devices to harness heat energy before the compressed air is directed to drive turbines or other devices to generate electricity. An alternative/complimentary system of harnessing energy from ocean waves, tidal stream and wind using a floating vessel is also proposed. In this alternative/complimentary system, the edges of said floating vessel has double acting piston pumps, said floating vessel connected to a plurality of stationary piles secured to the seabed. The system also have a plurality of air storage tanks and heat exchangers or other devices. The sideway movements of the floating vessel caused by the ocean waves, tidal stream and wind moves the vessel to knock against the stationary piles, causing the pistons pumps to be pushed thereby activating the piston pumps to compress air in air storage tanks, causing the air to be heated, and passing the hot air through heat exchangers or other devices to harness heat energy before the compressed air is directed to drive turbines or other devices to generate electricity.
