An inner package (5) has an access opening (6) through which smoking articles can be removed. The access opening (6) can be covered by a reclosable flap (8) when the hinged lid (3) is in the closed position. With the lid (3) in the closed positon, the reclosable flap (8) forms an overlap region with a surface of the inner package (5) that extends around the periphery of the access opening (6). The overlap region comprises an adhering region to releasably affix the surface fo the inner package (5) and the reclosable flap (8), and a non-adhering region. An outer surface of the reclosable flap (8) is attached to a first lid panel (32) of the hinged lid (3).
