Abstract

】 The present invention relates to a ship power generation system and method, which increase power generation capacity such that a ship designed as an LNG carrier can be modified into a ship usable as an FSRU. According to one embodiment of the present invention, provided is the ship power generation system comprising: a propulsion engine for transmitting power to a propeller during sailing; a power generation engine for producing electric power which is to be supplied to regasification equipment during regasification; and additional systems provided so as to drive the propulsion engine, wherein the propulsion engine and the power generation engine are alternatively driven, and the additional systems are used jointly by being respectively connected to the propulsion engine and the power generation engine.
