The apparatus may determine to transmit a narrowband physical downlink channel in a subframe in a narrowband TDD frame structure of a plurality of narrowband TDD frame structures for narrowband communications. In addition, the apparatus may determine whether the subframe is a special subframe or a downlink subframe when the narrowband TDD frame structure includes one or more special subframes. Further, the apparatus may determine how to transmit a narrowband physical downlink channel based on the determination whether the subframe is a special subframe or a downlink subframe. Additionally, the apparatus may transmit the narrowband physical downlink channel.
