Published: — with international search report (Art. 21(3)) (54) Title: EXPANDED-BEAM CONNECTOR WITH MOLDED LENS •100 Km*,, /'103a o o\ © 00 i-H en i-H o CJ o & 104a 102a (57) Abstract: An expanded-beam connector (100) comprising a sleeve (101) for holding at least one fiber (102) and one lens body (103), the sleeve (101) having an interior surface (101a) having certain a geometry, a fiber (102) having a fiber end face (102a), and a lens body (103), the lens body (103) being formed with first face a (104) and second face a (105), the first and second faces (104, 105) being substantially planar, the first face (104) having an interface point (104a) for optically coupling with the fiber end face(102a), the second face (105) having convex a surface (107), the interface point (104a) and the convex surface (107) being optic ally coupled through the lens body (103), the lens body (103) having an outer periphery (103a) at least a portion of which has the certain geometry such that the lens body (103) is held in precise a radial position relative to the sleeve (101) when disposed in the sleeve (101).
