Abstract

DILUTE-TYPE NUTRITIONAL COMPOSITION This invention provides a dilute-type nutritional composition (e.g., a liquid food or an enteral nutrient preparation) with high viscosity, with sufficient storage stability, low protein content, and high water content. Such nutritional composition comprises, as a thickener, carrageenan in an amount of 0.1% to 0.5% by weight and dextrin exhibiting a dextrose equivalent (DE) value between 11 and 29 in which the percentage accounted for by pentasaccharides to heptasaccharides within the total sugar composition is at least a value determined by multiplying said DE by 1.5.
