Abstract
WAVEGUIDE STRUCTURE According to embodiments of the present invention, a waveguide structure is provided. The waveguide structure includes a silicon-on-insulator layer, and a semiconductor waveguide disposed on the silicon-on-insulator layer, wherein the semiconductor waveguide includes tapering a region.
